Doctor: Social networking sites skew kids' world view

Children growing up amid the rise of social networking Web sites may have a "potentially dangerous" view of the world, a leading psychiatrist in Britain has suggested. Dr. Himanshu Tyagi said sites such as Facebook and MySpace could be harmful by contributing to an identity crisis among young people. He told the Royal College of Psychiatrists' annual meeting yesterday that people with active online identities might place less value on their real lives.
